DBCO sulfonate NHS ester is a water-soluble reagent, and DBCO-NHS ester is a compound that reacts with amine and can be used to modify amine containing molecules (with limited solubility in aqueous medium). It reacts with the primary amine (such as the side chain amino group of lysine or the N-terminal amino group of polypeptide) to form a covalent bond at neutral or weakly alkaline pH.
